Calcium-L-ascorbate: buffered ascorbic acid
The scientific name of vitamin C is ascorbic acid. It does not matter whether the vitamin C is in natural form, e.g. from rosehip or acerola, or in synthetic form, because the structure of the vitamin is the same.
Calcium ascorbate is the calcium salt of ascorbic acid. Put simply, the ascorbic acid has been neutralised with the mineral calcium, so that the vitamin C is present in buffered form.
